Department of Agriculture Engineering was functioning as a sub division in the Dept. Agronomy and was formed as a new department in 1993.

From the year 2000 onwards, the department, has restructured the courses of study and has oriented its future program towards following areas: Engineering Mathematics and Physics, Resource Management and Environmental Engineering, Rural Technology and Energy Management, Agricultural Products Processing Engineering, Land Reclamation Engineering, Waste Management Engineering, Landscape Engineering, Irrigation Management and Technology.
